So 1975 is basically known for one thing in our culture.

And Berto's birth.

Yeah, and Jaws was released in theaters across the nation.

It broke many records.

It jump-started the career of Stephen Spielberg. It was his first big hit.

He was 27 years old when he directed this movie by the way, which is absolutely incredible.

That is crazy.

He would go on to be quite possibly the most accomplished movie director of all time.

I was four years old and I desperately wanted to see this movie but I wasn't allowed.

I think I saw the poster and thought it was a

porno because the poster was sort of porny. How would you know what a porno was? I don't know when I eventually saw it. It might have been when it was aired on TV in 1979, which kind of makes sense. And I remember it being kind of interesting, but I don't remember being affected by it very much.

Maybe it was because we had a tiny 12 inch TV or something and rewatching it recently.

I realize there's a lot of talking. There's just a lot of hanging out. There there's a lot of talking there's just a lot of hanging out

there's not a lot of action action and also I grew up as a as a kid who loved

playing in the water loved going to the ocean, loved going to the lakes, and so I don't, it just didn't resonate with me.

And I didn't really appreciate it until about 10 years ago, I heard lots of talk about its significance. People I respect

saying it was their favorite movie of all time and I remember thinking, well geez that's

kind of weird. I mean jaws so let me ask you

Burdo how did you discover this movie I didn't grow up by the ocean I grew up

in a big-ass, Bogota, full of buildings and like that's it, you know, it's this

flat mesa full of concrete. So I didn't really like no. I have no like sense of like the the beach and you know I'd been to a beach and stuff but it wasn't like I lived nearby.
