It has been a busy few days, a busy few days for myself.

I've been on the road, I'm back touring, I hadn't done a gig in four months because

I needed time to finish my book, and now my book is done, it's completely written.

I'm back on the road doing gigs, I was in the car car per house, had a wonderful time

there and a magnificent crowd, and then I went straight on to Dublin to do a gig in

Vicar Street, and I'm a ferociously worn out by as a result, because gig in is magnificent

fun, I adore it, but it's also kind of overwhelming because I'm standing out there in front of

an audience of a thousand people, and the adrenaline rush from that and the joy of it

is magnificent, but it takes hours to switch off then after that, so I'd be off stage

at eleven, get back home to Limbrick, and maybe two or three in the morning, and then

I just don't sleep, there's too much excitement after the gig, you feel giddy, and then your

brain decides when it wants to turn off, many hours later, but I do have an absolutely

magnificent guest for you this week.

I spoke to a woman called Dr. Katrina or Sullivan, she's a psychologist, she teaches developmental

psychology, and an area of interest for her is the impact that poverty and marginalization

can have on the human brain and the human personality, and Katrina herself, she's got

a book out at the moment, it's a bestseller, called Poor, and it's a memoir of her life

because Katrina grew up in debilitating poverty, surrounded by addiction, and marginalized

by society, so what you get with Katrina is not just an expert, not just an expert in psychology,

but someone who's practical expertise is filtered through a lens of lived experience, Katrina

also is someone who very much believes in democratizing academic information, when she speaks
