Wow, well welcome to a Passion City Church where we're beginning our

Advent journey together and if you have not celebrated Advent traditionally,

like our family really growing up, we weren't an Advent family but in time we've

discovered this beautiful ancient tradition of the church. An Advent basically

is a season of expectation leading us to Christmas. The hope of it being twofold

one that we don't get steamrolled by the rush and the crush of Christmas and

secondly that we actually can embrace the Savior in the process. Would this be

a miracle if those two things could be true of our lives in the next few days?

A, the rush and the crush of the season don't steamroll us in the process and

B, at the end of it all when Christmas arrives we actually are savoring the

Savior more than we ever have in our lives before. Do you think that's even

possible or is this like a Christmas wish on par with Santa coming down the

chimney? I'm not sure people are even buying the possibility of Advent today

but the invitation of Advent is on the table and we want to wrap our hearts

around that in these few days with the idea, the promise of Christmas. In other

words what is it about Christmas that God is saying to you and me in our lives
