ab good morning John so we meet in the aftermath of yet another evil monstrous horrific

event about which it is almost impossible to say anything of any moment the horrible church

slaughter in in Texas yesterday so I think rather than sort of dwell on the particulars

of this event we were discussing here how social media almost instantly divided itself

as it did after Las Vegas as it did after a couple of other events into two camps one camp

expressing in utterly conventional fashion the notion that we are sending our thoughts

and prayers to the suffering and dead in Texas and another camp reacting with barely disguised

or open rage at the at the notion that it was sufficient or even tasteful to send such

thoughts and prayers rather than acting on the event to change policy and this is now

become so dreary routine that you have sort of Hollywood types and liberal types condemning

people for the what they see as the how you describe it the oh sort of the almost narcotic

appeal to prayer as though saying you want to pray for somebody is is is something that you do

in order not to feel it and not to express any feeling about it and and and exploding in incredible
