If you were with us last time, you know that I was having a conversation with my dear friend or special guest Dr. Ralph Martin about his new book a life in the spirit

A memoir I cannot recommend this too highly but we weren't able to get through the whole book and we're not going to try to get through the whole book now either

Otherwise you won't get it read it but what we did was to cover the experience of an ongoing conversion that had several divine moments, you know, from childhood

through college and beyond. I'd like to pick up in a chapter entitled a

surprising development. Do you remember that?

Yeah, I do, you know.

There's an amazing amount to it, but after Notre Dame, I started working on a doctor at Princeton, but I wasn't as

interested in philosophy as I used to be. I was in philosophy because I wanted to know

what's true, what's real, what's important.

Finding Jesus in the faith answered that for me.

I did find in my studies, I got my fellowship renewed, but I got 25 of my fellow

graduate students to make a

a chorseo in Brooklyn and got them into small groups

and one of them went on to become a priest.

So my heart was in salvation.

My heart was in people knowing Jesus.

My heart was people and people getting

reconciled with God you know type of thing so that summer a friend of Steve Clark

and myself went to a monastery in upstate New York where Damas was the prior.
