and it's a continuation of a series about Jonah.

I'm excited about where we are today. So if you got your scriptures with you,

we're in Jonah chapter 4, if you don't, I want to read it to you. It's a short chapter.

I'm going to read you Jonah chapter 4 and it's going to be weird and then we'll

pray and jump into it this morning. So Jonah chapter 4 beginning in verse 1 says this

But it displeased Jonah exceedingly and he was angry

And he prayed to the Lord and said, oh Lord, is this not what I said when I was yet in my own country?

That is why I made haste to flee to Tarshish.

For I knew that you're a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, abounding in

steadfast love and relenting from disaster. Therefore now, oh Lord, please take my life

from me, for it is better for me to die than to live.

And the Lord said, do you do well to be angry?

Jonah went out of the city and sat to the east of the city and made a

booth for himself there and he sat under it in the shade till he should see what

would become of the city. Now the Lord God appointed a plant and made it come up over Jonah that it might be shade over his head to give save him from his discomfort.

So Jonah was exceedingly glad because of the plant.

But when the dawn came the next day, God appointed a worm that attacked
