Today I want to tell you a very inspiring story, but it also comes with something that concerns me.

Hi, I'm Dave. I started walking for fitness in 2013.

Still take an intentional fitness walk every single day.

Saw an article recently about a woman named Tricia.

In 2022, she was at her highest weight ever.

She had pre-diabetes, and there were a couple of other physical issues that she was feeling at the time.

Detrecia made a commitment to consistently walk every day.

Now this was not something brand new for DeTricia.

Before the pandemic, she would walk to work.

I don't know how far away from work she lived, how far that walk was,

but even if it was just around the block, she still made a commitment to walk every day

and her goal was to get to work and back home. But then once the pandemic hit, I'm making the

assumption that she was now working from home. And so she lost that walk and did not replace it with a separate walk.

And over time, she gained weight. And some of these other physical symptoms began to impact

her daily life more consistently. And she was also pre-diabetic.

And so last year, Detricia made the commitment that she was going to walk every day.

She started with 5,000 steps, and every two or three weeks, she would add another 500 to her goal.
