| 0:00.0 | Hi, this is Hank Hanegraff, president of the Christian Research Institute and host of the Bible |
| 0:16.8 | and Saman broadcast with another Hank unplug short. |
| 0:20.1 | Today I want to talk about the problem of evil. |
| 0:23.3 | And the reason is self-evident. We've seen horrendous evils take place in Afghanistan. |
| 0:31.6 | We've been alerted again and again to the problem of evil that is manifest through abortion. Politicians today |
| 0:41.1 | undergirding the notion that we should allow abortion during the entire nine months of a woman's |
| 0:53.9 | pregnancy. That is a horrendous evil. Imagine someone willing to |
| 1:01.4 | terminate a child, a preborn child at eight months. The only difference between that child in the womb and outside the womb is, |

| 2:06.6 | because in this view, God is all and all is God. |
| 2:10.6 | Philosophical naturalism doesn't help either, even though it is very popular in the West today. This is the worldview undergirding evolutionism, |
| 2:21.0 | which supposes that everything is a function of random processes, and thus there is no such thing as good |
| 2:28.8 | and evil. That leaves us with only one possibility, and that is theism. |
| 2:36.8 | And theism alone has a relevant response to the question of evil. |
| 2:42.4 | And I would give further to say that only Christian theism answers the problem satisfactorily. |
| 2:50.6 | Christian theism acknowledges that God created the potential for evil because God |
| 2:55.3 | created humans with freedom of choice. |
| 3:00.0 | And of course, without choice, love is meaningless. |
