Solomon closes the book of Ecclesiastes with these words.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter.

Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Each of us have been given only one life. What will we do with it? Life. It's not a game.

And in this journey through the book of Ecclesiastes, Scott Pauley will guide us to better

understand the true meaning of life.

Two are better than one. You know, God gives us one life. We have one opportunity to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Years ago, I had a message that I used to give to young people on the power of one.

One life yielded to God, one life filled with the Holy Spirit, one life in God's perfect will.

And I believe in the power of one. But I want to talk to you today about the principle of two.

Because what I quoted to you a moment ago from Ecclesiastes

chapter four in verse number nine is the word of God. Two are better than one. You remember in

our last study that we talked about the loneliness of life. This is a relational passage and we

examined the first eight verses and the fact that

men need a relationship with God. If you don't want to walk through life alone, then you need the

Lord. But he continues in Ecclesiastes chapter 4 to talk about human relationships. We not only

need the Lord, we need one another. In fact, you can't be everything that

God wants you to be until you are connected to those that God wants you to be connected to.

Now, we understand that we have Christ. Praise God, we have Christ. But the divine purpose is that then we would be connected to other Christ

followers and together could move forward for the glory of God. Listen to verses 9 through 12. Two are

better than one because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will

lift up his fellow. but woe to him

that is alone when he falleth, for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together,
