Solomon closes the book of Ecclesiastes with these words.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter.

Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Each of us have been given only one life. What will we do with it? Life. It's not a game.

And in this journey through the book of Ecclesiastes, Scott Pauley will guide us to better

understand the true meaning of life. In the last few years, the U.S. Surgeon General issued a warning about what he called the

epidemic of loneliness. He said that in their estimation, they believe that half of Americans were dealing with loneliness.

Now, this is interesting because this is the most connected generation in history, feeling

more disconnected than ever. Why is that? The answer, of course, like every other question,

is found in scripture, because the problem is not social.

The problem is spiritual.

Do you remember back in the Garden of Eden when God created man and he said,

It is not good that the man should be alone.

And speaking for men everywhere, I want to say amen to that.

And I agree with that.

We were made for relationship.

And I understand some people say, well, that person's a loner.

Maybe you feel like by personality, you're not a people person.

But we're not talking here about personality.

We're talking about the way

God makes us, spirit, soul, and body. And spiritually, we need one another. We need God and we

need one another. We were made that way. We returned today to Ecclesiastes to chapter number four
