Hi, John. Senior writer Christine Rosem. Hi, Christine. Hi, John. And executive

editor, a Greenwald Hi, Ape. Hi, John. So after midnight last night, Sunday night,

Monday morning, the magnificent mile in Chicago, which was the site last week of a

open air gun down shooting of a rapper on a very ordinarily busy shopping street, just off

Michigan Avenue, there was a full-scale looting riot that broke out and lasted for four or five

hours as this gang went south on Michigan Avenue across the Chicago River.

Cops ended up having to shoot a guy at Michigan and Lake who was shooting at them.

Thirteen cops were injured because people were throwing bricks and planters and stuff down on

the cops from a height. This was a full-scale property looting riot where people were breaking

through windows and just taking things out of the windows. Nobody really knows what triggered it.

Supposedly it might have been triggered by a false report of an unjust police shooting where

apparently the police had to somebody was shooting at somebody else in a cop shot. I don't know,

something like that. So basically, the main news story over the weekend about Chicago was that

Mayor Lori Lightfoot had gotten so angry that people were on a beach together and not socially

distancing that she put up a fence on the beach on Montrose and said, how dare you and had a

big nice fit about that. One, of course, six weeks earlier, she had welcomed the Black Lives Matter

mass demonstrations as being something wonderful and to be praised, but apparently you can't go to

the beach. What do we make of this? Are we now moving into the second order effect of

the war on the cops that we're going to see some terrible stuff happening?
