I'm bringing in my favorite people, thinkers, experts to be able to talk to us about what we need to hear now as we're going through the pandemic in these troubled times. Today I'm so excited to invite Melody Malone on the show. She is a worship leader with passion. Welcome,
0:22.9	Melody. Hi, I'm so glad to be here. I am thrilled that you're here. I got to tell you,
0:28.4	it's a bit of an embarrassing admission. I have prayed for years and years and years for the
0:34.2	ability to sing because I feel like there is something there is something
0:38.2	that I've missed out and I'm like Lord you you answer prayers you are a good God but you did not
0:43.6	give me the ability to sing because I feel like I could have been an amazing worship leader and
0:48.1	Lord's like nope but when we're all in heaven I'm going to, I'm going to be amazing.
0:54.5	I'm making up for all these decades on earth where when there's certain notes that come from the worship team, I have to lip sync as a gift to the people around me.
1:03.7	And I will tell that story sometimes around my friends who can sing and they'll go, oh, Allie, you're so silly.
1:09.3	I'm sure it's not that. It's that bad.
1:11.2	I know.
1:12.9	In fact, my mom when I was little told me that I was an amazing singer until second grade in the backseat with a friend of mine.
1:20.3	And I'm singing.
1:21.4	And my friend was like, you are the worst singer I've ever heard.
1:24.6	And I felt very betrayed.
1:26.0	You need people like that in your life.
1:27.6	All these years you couldn't have you couldn't have been truthful. Oh my word.
1:34.0	Okay talk to me about I want to know background like growing up when did you realize like this is my
1:40.9	thing. God gave me this gift and I'm going to run with it. Oh man, music was always a
1:46.8	part of our family. I mean, I started piano lessons, almost four when I started piano lessons. So it was
1:52.7	one of those things where it was just kind of part of life. I mean, my grandmother would have us
1:56.8	always like prepare something, me and my cousins for Christmas, like, what are you going to do?
