What a joy it is to be able to gather around God's word and be strengthened by the power of the

Word of God. There is nothing like His Word, and I love it when we read it and when we speak it,

and when we sing it, and reinforce it, and what a joy, what a joy, what a joy. Well, our scriptural text

today comes from Joshua, chapter 1 and and verse 8 notice this in the new living

translation of the scriptures study this book of instruction continually meditate on it day and night

so that you will be sure to obey everything written in it, only then will you prosper and succeed

in all you do. And we're talking today simply from the subject, the power of the word. The power

of the word. The Bible teaches that God is sustaining all things by the word of his power, not merely the

power of his word, but the word of his power. It is because God's power is released by his word. That's why

Jesus could speak to Lazarus and call him to come forth,

and he would come forth. I mean, a dead person could come back to light. A person with a withered hand

could have their hand restored just at the word of the Lord. A fig tree would wither and dry up and die.

Just at his word. There is power in the Word of God.

So we're talking about the power of the word, the power of the word.

And notice in the New Living Translation of Joshua 1-8, it says not merely to just casually, just read the book, it says to study it. Because when you

study the word of God, you get more out of the word than just reading it. When you study,

there is an intent. Study is about a discipline of learning, a discipline of learning. You can read something and not learn a thing.

But when you study it, you get more out of it. And he says, this is why he says, to study

this book of instruction. You know, we use the Bible sometimes as an acronym B, I, BLE, as basic

instruction before leaving Earth. It's as basic instruction before leaving Earth.
