The way a New Testament believer should interpret that is, I've got a brand new heart through my faith in Jesus and I'm now clean and pure in my

spirit through Jesus and what he did and not through my holiness.

And for you to pray and say, oh God, taking not your Holy Spirit for me is just a slap in the face of Jesus who said,

I'll never leave you nor forsake you. I'm sending the Holy Spirit and he will be with you forever.

There's a difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant.

And we shouldn't be praying the same way.

But when people pray for revival, they'll say, oh, we got to clean our heart.

God won't fill a dirty vessel.

I want you to know God hadn't got any other kind of vessel to fill.

If you're talking about your flesh, none of us are perfect and holy in our flesh.

And I've lived holier than most of you and I'm still not

holy enough to deserve anything in my flesh.

If you're talking about my born-again spirit, well then that's clean through what Jesus did.

You know, I studied the, when I first got really turned on to the Lord,

this is back in the 60s.

Man, I was praying for revival non-stop.

We had all night prayer meetings, praying and asking God for revival,

and I studied the Moravian revival, the New Habridis revival. I studied all kinds of

revival and especially the one about the new Haber-Dee's revival.
