More to come on that in a moment but first let's tune into the sound of the bells. Okay, so today we're talking about stillness and when I say stillness I am quite literally

referring to physical stillness the capacity to be still in your experience. Now different things come up for different people around

the idea of stillness. Notice what your own reaction to it is. Is it something that feels compelling to you? Is it something that feels

you have some resistance toward, feels uncomfortable when you think about it? Are you someone

that moves a lot that's comfortable with stillness or you someone

that's very comfortable with stillness and maybe less comfortable with movement or

action regardless of what your relationship to it is,

there is something powerful about stillness for all of us,

which is that it develops a container for us to explore being with our experience as it is

without reacting to it. As soon as you decide to be physically still,

let's just say in a meditation.

Well, now you are forced by choice because you're choosing to be there to be with all of the

different experiences that can arise, boredom that arises that tells you to do

something else.

A little bit of discomfort in the back or the knees that tell you that

you need to move and itch on the face that you want to scratch.

All of these are a small form. face that you want to scratch.

All of these are small forms of discomfort that usually in day-to-day we quickly take care of and

move on.

But within the container of stillness, we're asked to meet these things, to learn to relax into them.
