federal state prisons. Of those 92% are dads. Those who participate in

programs like substance abuse treatments or employment and education programs are less likely to return to prison.

Even more so are programs that help maintain and strengthen relationship between parents and their children during imprisonment.

A recent video of the ministry God Behind Bar shows just how much joy is shared between

imprisoned parents who are given the chance to spend just a day with their kids.

Some of them hadn't seen each other in up to 10 years. Programs

that teach inmates parenting skills and help inmates maintain family ties during prison time,

quote, lead to more frequent contact between fathers and children, and help inmates fare better when released.
