As you look around there are plenty of embroidered pillows, Pinterest boards, and smiling friends

who are going to tell you to cherish each and every moment with your children.

And that's true, but really, in honesty, day-to-day life rarely feels like something worth celebrating to a lot of parents.

Today you're going to hear one simple phrase that may change your whole perspective on small moments with your kids. I'm John Fuller and

along with me is Danny Werta, he's head of our parenting department here at

Focus on the Family and Danny there are things that are really wonderful about parenting let's start

positive what are some good things that you remember I love I love playing basketball

with my son and my daughter as well and laughter together playing

war games just the simple things that are a repetition just I remember one time

when my I was playing with my son he was very young and I felt a moment of complete satisfaction when I was just

fully present with him. Yeah for a moment and it was it was right. I just really enjoyed it as a gift.

It's, we don't always have moments that are long with our kids, but we can do is, is, keep it simple in our home and that is having laughter finding my

sons into lifting weights now so we'll lift weights my daughter's into stretching so I'll

do that and that looks very funny when I'm trying to stretch with her.

So she laughs as we do that and we just try to have as many moments, little moments together as we can and as kids get older they get

busier they have more demands on them and so you have to be creative as a parent

to find ways to connect in simple ways. Yeah.

So those will create memories.
