My friends, I have a great fable for you today.

Now, this does touch slightly upon yesterday's, or it could be a lovely follow-up.

the most obvious things in life are deceptively simple, aren't they? But we complicate them,

we make excuses, we think there are exceptions. Stick with me, my friends.

A crab said to her son, why do you walk so one-sided, my child? It's far more becoming to go straight forward.

The young crab replied, quite true, dear mother, and if you will show me the straight way,

I will promise to walk in it. The mother tried in vain and submitted without remonstrance to the

reproof of her child. Moral? Example is more powerful than precept. friends, think about this. Example is more powerful than

advice. Are you walking your talk or are you just talking your talk? Talk is cheap. Talk is easy.

Anyone can say anything, any time of day. Think about it. Do you think that we can preach in our integrity things that we don't

practice? Is there a real lesson in what we say or is it in how we live? For example, are you a parent

who says no phones at dinner, but you're constantly on your phone.

You know, to my dad's credit, he was a big smoker.

And when I was smoking as a teenager with him, he'd never say anything about it.

He couldn't.

If he stopped smoking, he could then preach, but he did it with me because he knew that it was futile.

It's like the old saying, right, do as I say and not as I do. Even children

know the hypocritical nature of that. It's, it doesn't work. It doesn't last. There is

nothing useful or honest about it. So if you want to create a good example, live that way.

Show up. Honor your commitments. Do what's healthy. Do what's
