Guys, I apologize, but today we're going to talk about the post office. I'm sorry.

There are three things I really hate in life, political, grandstanding, loud histionics, and the post office.

And all three of those things are converging in a two-week ordeal of literal conspiracy theories about the post office.

A 70 billion dollar space. conspiracy theories about the post office, a $70 billion spam folder

inching its way towards oblivion at roughly the same pace which lines move at in

the post office. Now I want to be clear, despite the fact that I hate

the experience of visiting the post office, I have nothing against any of its employees

who are just trying to make a living like anybody else.

And in my experience, those employees are actually quite helpful.

They know what they're doing, and they're doing their best to counter the lines and tedium and glaring aesthetic brutalism and incomprehensible jargon,

which I absolutely detest at the post office.

And I feel sorry for the agency as a whole

because the post office has been given an impossible task.

We have given the post office a legal mandate to operate as an

autonomous self-funding business and every time it acts like a business Congress comes in and kneecaps any reforms which might drag it

into the light of modernity.

We're forcing the post office to act as if mail and finances are the same as they were before email and it's been sinking

for 20 years.

And whenever the post office does something remotely financially savvy to orient itself

towards reality, Congress swoops in and orders it to pretend it's
