Hello and welcome to the 538 Politics Podcast. I'm Galen Drug. How concerned if at all

are you about the possibility that AI will cause the end of the human race on Earth?

Well more importantly for our purposes is that rather alarmist question, a good or bad

use of polling. A recent UGF poll suggested Americans are quite concerned about AI, and

so today we're going to try to gauge how reflective that actually is of public opinion,

and also what politicians are doing about it. We're also going to turn our focus to Tennessee.

Last week, State House Republicans there voted to expel two lawmakers for leading a pro-gun

control protest inside the Tennessee House chamber. The move drew national attention to

the protests that have been ongoing there since last month's school shooting in Nashville,

and actually as we record Monday morning, there's news of another mass shooting in Louisville,

Kentucky. So what's the fallout from those expulsions, and where does the public stand

on gun laws today? But before we get to any of that, last Friday, a federal judge in

Texas ruled that one of the drugs used for nearly all medication abortions, Memphis
