So we're all low blood sugar, but excited.

I am going to give thanks to you, our dear Gapest listeners.

Why are you low blood sugar?

We're all low blood sugar in the Thanksgiving anticipation.

I wish that was true for me.

It's not true?

I always mean to eat less before Thanksgiving and I never do it. Huh. But I'm impressed that you do. Well, I don't really, but I'm feeling low blood sugar at the moment. So I may, my behavior may be erratic. It's because you're thinking about those pies. Your mother is baking. Exactly. So that, of course, is Emily Bazelon, Slate Senior Editor in New Haven. Emily, are you the host of Thanksgiving? Are you traveling?

No, we are going to my husband's family, and I am thankful to them for hosting Thanksgiving, so I don't have to do it.

John Dickerson, Slate's chief below correspondent, who is the son around which his familial solar system revolves? So you are the host of your Thanksgiving?

We are the host. The number is now increased to 22.

Did you breed? Is it like trouble with troubles? No, no. We had one, a new edition, late arrival, new edition, for which we are thankful and grateful and wonderful. And right after the show, we'll be moving the furniture out of the living room so that we can set up the tables.

Good. That's exciting. We could maybe move the furniture out of this room, too.
