Hello everyone and welcome to police off the cuff, real crime stories.

I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

You know, folks, we've covered the Gene Hackman and the Betsy Arakawa case quite extensively,

and we've covered the science of it, and we've covered somewhat the police angle of it.

But tonight we're going to cover more of the police angle of it.

And I think as the coverage becomes clearer, and the science comes back to this case,

I think most people, when presented with the facts and the circumstances, as we know

them, will probably agree, minus some horrific finding in the toxicology. Most people will

agree that this case looks like a horrible set of circumstances

resulting from natural deaths.

And as rare as it is for two people to die at the same time,

we don't specifically know if they died at the same time.

The time frame we're dealing with

is really based upon when Mr. Hackman's pacemaker stopped. And that happened on the 17th of

February. So using that, it's, you know, about a 10 day or it could even be longer than that,

that he passed away.

So we want to look at what were the actions of the police and what made them think

that this was suspicious?

Was it the high-profile nature of this case?

What did they see other things?
