A few weeks ago, you may have heard of an ambitious experiment

being carried out by one school in London

in an apparent attempt to tackle childhood phone addiction.

The 7-7 thing is when students come in at 7 a.m. to have breakfast,

but you don't have to come in at 7.

And then after that, it's a normal school day and then we do

home at for an hour for 15 and then we do activities like sports, art, drama, clay pot

making and stuff and then we have dinner and then we can go home.

For nearly two months now, All Saints Catholic College in West London has opened its doors to

pupils for a full 12-hour school day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. It's now just after 7 o'clock in the

morning two weeks into the pilot scheme and along with producer Courtney I'm in a

busy dance studio where children from year 7 and 8 are eating a hot breakfast,

chatting with their friends and playing games.

This is how All Saints bold new 7 to 7 school day begins.

Children can bring phones into school, but they must remain switched off in their bags for the entire 12 hours.

Instead, pupils are encouraged to play together
