| 0:32.6 | And this is the podcast where we watch one film from the A.F.I.S. top 100 films of all time list and look and see if they are really as good as people say do they hold up and how have they influenced the films that we watch today. |
| 0:45.6 | Last week we talked about the Maltees Falcon. We'll be talking a little bit more about that in the next few seconds. |
| 0:51.6 | But this week we are talking about a classic romantic comedy, the Philadelphia Story and we have a very special guest today. |
| 0:58.6 | The writer of Set It Up, Katie Silverman. So stay tuned for that. Before we get back into the Maltees Falcon I want to remind people that we have amazing merch available at tpublic.com, slash stores, slash unspooled and we actually saw two people wearing a shirt that we thought wasn't getting any love online. |
| 1:17.6 | No one had bought this shirt. I love leopards. Charlton Heston from Benher. It's a great kind of what do you call it style? It's not Art Deco but it's like Pop Art or something. |
| 1:28.6 | Yeah it's very Pop Art comic bookie, Lichtenstein without the Dotsie. And it was the cutest couple. They came to our live show at the LMO Draft House wearing the matching shirts but in their own colors because they let it you pick your own color that you want your shirt to be on which I love that about where our shirts come from. |
| 1:41.6 | It's so so good to head on over to tpublic.com, slash stores, slash unspooled and if you want to follow along with us you can always head to podge swag.com and get our poster designed by Scott C. You did an amazing job. Follow along. I've been checking off my poster and it's a pretty great fun little hobby. Now let's talk about people's reaction to the Maltees Falcon. |
| 2:01.6 | Well people were very intelligent in deciphering and scrambling with the Maltees Falcon and I actually want to point out Matthew Fountain who in the unspooled podcast group said did anybody else notice that the title the Maltees Falcon could be a loose anagram for tease a fallen con man. |
| 2:16.6 | Woo wow I like that. I know I'm always here for my anagram brothers and sisters. Yes do you think that that actually is true or is that just kind of fake? When I stared at it in my head it seemed to make sense. |
| 2:26.6 | But actually while we're talking about me deciphering things I have to do a me a copa of my own because I did not realize that there were actually a few Simpson's Maltees Falcon references that people did pick up on that I completely miss the number one thing is the Simpsons likes to do the Sydney Green Street angle they're like oh it's a giant man and we're in his crotch. |
| 2:48.6 | Like here this is from the episode homey the clown and as you hear fat Tony talk. Hicks are them shooting this moment of the Simpsons exactly like the Maltees Falcon. |
| 2:57.6 | I am afraid the time has come for you to pay us look I'm cleaned out just take the clown college we have already taken it. |
| 3:05.6 | Good stuff a lot of money these days so after you finish your performance you might consider robin them. |
| 3:11.6 | You know Amy that's not the only crotch shot on the Simpsons here's another one that was sent to us and again it's an audio medium but we're showing you crotch shots but just imagine this character just picture crotch shots just share Simpsons crotch that's with this podcast on the air by top 100 is gone crotch shots baby in cartoon. |
| 3:31.6 | Oh I'm sorry I can't divulge information about that customer secret illegal account. Oh crap I shouldn't have said it was customer. |
| 3:42.6 | Oh crap I shouldn't have said it was a secret. Oh crap I certainly shouldn't have said it was illegal. It's too hot today. |
| 3:52.6 | Great crotch work and funny scene but it wasn't just the Simpsons Amy there's also a Ren and Stimpy Maltees Falcon clip this is true and once Sharon Horat who is so smart every week with the things that she notices bring |
| 4:08.6 | some attention she was like hey you guys remember that Ren and Stimpy his catchphrase is Peter Laura's catchphrase and I was like oh my god how could I have not noticed I ate the five bucks. |
