I want to share with you today something that you already know to be true on a conscious level,

but it bears repeating, I don't think we can receive it and hear it enough,

and I want to give you a bit of a comparison,

so you know how the brain works around this topic.

Okay?

My friends, social media is not reality.

I know I know you've heard it a hundred times, but I'm telling you it's not even 5% reality.

If someone posts a gorgeous picture, say even every three days, that is 15 seconds of their life over a 72 hour period.

You have no idea what's going on behind the scenes.

You don't know about their credit card debt.

You don't know about the relationship struggles.

You don't know about the bad health report

that they recently received. you don't know about the

loss that they're still grieving, you don't know anything about the fullness of someone's

life by paying attention to their social media channels.

Okay? I want to make something clear here too. The people you can compare yourself to,

I think we all do it to some extent, knowingly or unknowingly,

the people that you are comparing yourself to,

and you're not feeling very good about it because they seem to be doing better,

right? They look better, they've got better careers, they've got maybe better summer vacations,

whatever it is, the people you are comparing yourself to are struggling.
