Let's talk for a minute today about something that no one likes, but something that exists

happens to all of us, which is making mistakes?

Mistakes can feel awful.

I know that sick feeling that when it dawns on you,

the realization that you made a mistake, maybe you made a mistake at work,

maybe you made a mistake in your personal life, maybe you made a mistake by saying or doing the wrong thing

and it's affected a relationship.

Oh, that sinking, sick feeling of making a mistake is part of the

human experience. We all do it. Here in my company we have a policy that if we make a mistake we apologize swiftly.

We don't try and cover it up, we don't try and defend it, we just go, you know what, my mistake,

I did that.

I'm going to be conscious of that moving forward.

So I love to move on from a mistake by owning it completely 100%, radical ownership, right?

And then moving forward and getting better from there, being conscious of that mistake.

It's interesting though because it's our nature as humans to defend and protect ourselves.

We don't want to own up to mistakes.

We want to blame others.

We want to look for reasons and even scramble for other ways that we could maybe put the

blame or responsibility on someone else or

something else like technology or oh gosh who knows there are so many things that

can come up when we're scrambling around to look for an excuse. But I want to share
