I think it is hard and trust me it's been hard for me.

I like to think that I put myself in a good headspace on a consistent basis, but I have moments where I kind of just break down and I'm like, man, God, why?

I don't understand.

But those moments are also fine, but just coming back to the fact that God is good and, you know, the tough times don't last forever.

And you need the tough times to have good times.

That was Cole Matieson today.

Back on the Running Effect podcast, Cole is a remarkable athlete from the University of Colorado,

where he's one of the top steeple chasers in the country.

But right now we're focused on cross country. We're focused on grass. And he's one of the guys propelling Colorado's men's one of the top steeple chasers in the country. But right now we're focused on cross country.

And he's one of the guys propelling Colorado's men's team to be one of the top programs in the country. As they search for a podium finish next month in Missouri at the NCAA cross country national championships. But more than that, Cole is a good friend. He's a buddy. and so today's conversation is a really, really free-flowing conversation from, oh gosh, Indianapolis sports to Grand Slam to all sorts of different things within the running world, American

distance running where we stand Cole Hawker winning the 5K at the World Championships.

And then we dive into Cole's running.
