This week I am talking to Howard Storm about his near-death experience and his book, My Descent Into Death and the Message of

Love which brought me back.

First of all, Howard, thank you for coming on to the Past Lives podcast.

You had an astonishing near-death experience, and when it all started out, you were a professor

of art, is that right?

Yes, I taught at a university in Kentucky. And at the time I was 38 years old and had become very much cast in my ways.

I was interested in my career at the university,

moving up the academic letter,

which I had, in fact, achieved.

I was a tenured full professor

and a department head.

I was the head of the art department. So I had gone

pretty far there. And more importantly to me was I was interested in my career as an artist.

I wanted to be a famous artist. And I was having some small success, but far from being the big famous artist I wanted to be.

And that's all that mattered to me.

And I had a wife and two kids, and I was kind of secondary in my life.

And we had a good life, relatively speaking.
