Good morning. It is Sunday, September the 5th. I'm Ali Valshi. Thank you for spending part of your Labor Day weekend with us here.

We begin today with the ongoing GOP attack on your rights and the party's effort

to control all aspects of your life. In Texas, unlikely very soon to be elsewhere, the Republican

Party has finally done what it's been trying to do for decades. They found a way around Roe

versus Wade, and they've effectively banned most abortions in Texas. Already, Arkansas, Florida,

Idaho, Indiana, Oklahoma, and South Dakota are lining up to copy the legislative legal

template the Texas Republicans created with the help of the McConnell stolen Trump-stacked

Supreme Court. But this attack on women's rights is more than that. It's also typical

of the Republican attacks on the poor and the vulnerable, because if you have the ways and the

means, you'll still be able to get an abortion. And already, several states, including New Mexico,

are bracing for an increase in women from Texas seeking the treatment. But if you don't, then you won't.

It's these same Republicans in states like Texas and Florida and other Republican-led states,

such as South Dakota, who are making other decisions to control your health for both men and

women, like outlawing local mask mandates in schools, essentially taking COVID side in the battle against the

pandemic and considering the latest surge in daily new cases, deaths, and hospitalizations,

it appears they may be succeeding. And it's these same Republicans who continue to wage an
