ancient mystical tradition known as Orphism and how it influenced the development and practice of ancient astrology.

So, Orphism is an ancient Greek mystery cult

supposedly founded by a legendary figure named Orpheus.

Orpheus was a legendary poet, musician, and mystical figure.

Members of the cult had to be initiated and were sworn to secrecy with oaths, and they believed that the soul was immortal and subject to

reincarnation. Part of the goal was to help ensure a better life in the future, and there was

an emphasis on remembering one's divine origin.

There was also a special emphasis on poetry and music

as ways of accessing the divine.

And Orpheus is listed as one of the legendary founders of Hellenistic astrology by people like

Fermicus Maternes.
