Hi, everyone. Welcome to an in-between episode where I answer any question that you have for me about history.

Today's question comes from Nathaniel Atkins, and he asked a question a few episodes about the origin of Pigletten.

His question is also about origins, but this one has to do with the origin of the High Five.

He asked, can you tell me what that is?

Well, I love these kind of random history questions because it's not something I've ever come across in reading.

I didn't know, so I have to dig into this.

When I think of the High Five, I think of an episode of Seinfeld, where a lanes boyfriend, David Puddy,

is constantly going up for a High Five. He's working as a used car salesman,

and punctuates almost the end of every positive encounter with people with, so it's great, High Five.

And Jerry Seinfeld responds that it's the most simmian of encounters that two people can have with each other.
