today's episode because this is something that if I'm gonna be honest I struggled with for a couple years and

hopefully it helps some of you out hopefully some of you agree

I know basically once we all get to a certain point where we start to take fishing super seriously and we you know maybe start dabbling in tournaments we consider ourselves a little bit more of a

I guess established angler than we really are we dive down this path where we get

so caught up and so kind of I don't even know how to explain it I basically became

like a gearhead like I I really obsessed over my rod and reel

setups and I got into this mindset where I just felt like I needed to have a rod and a reel

kind of specialized for every technique you know where

it's kind of like you go down the path and you're like man I really want a dedicated

blank setup so I really want a dedicated jerk bait set up I really want the perfect drop shot rod. I really want you get into these kind of I don't know this mindset where you feel like you need a rod and real combo for every specific technique because there are a quote-unquote rods and real path and then slowly you realize that you have 15 to 20 combos and

realistically even if you're you know on a boat by yourself you can realistically

only take like five or six combos at a time. So you

basically have all of these rods and reels sitting at home or sitting in your garage

and you have to decide which ones you're taking that day. You're basically making up your mind before you leave

of what you're going to throw that day. And that's not smart fishing, I don't think. I think when you get out to the lake,

you get out to the water, that's going to kind of dictate what you're going to be
