Today we have, it's breaking news for the podcast, came out this morning, mid-morning, mid-late morning, a new decision from the Supreme Court, one of these

that lines up pretty straightforwardly on Republican appointee Democratic grounds, but with some

complexities, at least on the Republican side, if not on the decision itself. So let me go

right to Kate, since this is Kate's beat following a lot of our Supreme Court

coverage. Kate, what was the decision that came down this morning?

So this case was over this Tennessee law that basically bans, you know, what we would call

gender affirming care. So like puberty blockers, hormones, you know, this medical treatment for minors who

are seeking it because they're trans, right? Because they have, you know, gender dysphoria or like

that other kind of umbrella of conditions that you only have when you're trans. So bans it for those

minors. But if minors want the exact same treatment for other

diagnoses, you know, precocious puberty, something like that, they're allowed to get it. And the

argument from, you know, the trans kids and their parents who kind of brought the case was that

obviously triggers equal protection,
