The truth is you’re burned out because you don’t actually know where your time is going — and that’s the reason your business isn’t scaling. In this video, Chris walks you through the Impact Time Audit: the one-week process we use with trades and home-service owners to reveal exactly where their hours are disappearing. Once you see the truth on paper, everything changes. You’ll know what tasks drain your energy, which ones are below your pay grade, and what your next hire should actually be doing. You’ll also learn how to track every 30 minutes for seven days, assign Energy and Value levels, place each task into the four Quadrants, and diagnose where your time leaks are. | 0:00.0 | If I asked you what you did the last eight hours, mostly you would say everything. That answer is |
| 0:05.1 | exactly why you're stuck. Until you see where your time is actually going, you're never going to be |
| 0:09.9 | able to scale. I've helped hundreds of business owners, especially in the trades in home services, |
| 0:14.6 | buy back their time and scale past the chaos. And the first thing that we do with every single one of |
| 0:20.1 | them is run an impact audit. |
| 0:22.4 | Because nine times out of 10, the reason they're not growing isn't strategy. It's where the |
| 0:27.6 | owner's hours are disappearing. I'm going to walk you through a simple one week process to |
| 0:32.5 | measure exactly where your time goes. And when you finish this, you're going to know, one, |
| 0:38.9 | what tasks are draining your energy? Two, what tasks are draining your energy. |
| 0:44.9 | Two, what tasks are below your pay grade. And three, what your next hire should actually do. |
| 0:59.1 | Step number one, you need to track everything. For one week, every 30 minutes, write down exactly what you did so between eight o'clock and 8.30 you're going to be able to say I read a book now don't overthink it don't optimize it |
| 1:08.1 | just record it okay so between 8 and 830 so between 8 and 8.30, you read a book. |
| 1:12.7 | 8.30 to 9, you took a customer call. |
| 1:16.8 | 9.30 to 10, recorded a job, et cetera, et cetera. |
| 1:21.6 | You're creating a log of your actual week, not your ideal week. |
| 1:25.9 | Now, in this instance, a lot of us like to lie to ourselves and tell us like, hey, you know, this is what I like to do or you don't want to necessarily admit to what you actually did. No, no, no, no, no. I need you to record exactly what you did. Step number two, I'm going to sign energy. So I'm going to come over here to customer call and I'm going to sign energy. For energy, it's either high or low. High meaning that you loved |
| 1:48.9 | it. You enjoyed it. Give you life. You do more of it if you could. Low, meaning that you absolutely |
| 1:54.5 | dreaded it. It drained you. You would pay someone so that you would never have to do it again. |
| 1:59.9 | So with energy, you want to say high or low. |
| 2:06.4 | And then step number three, we want to assign a value to it. |
| 2:10.6 | Anything that costs 25% or less of your hourly rate is considered a low value. |
| 2:15.5 | Anything that would be 25% or more would be considered high. |
