This year marks 30 years since a new sitcom debuted on NBC that changed the face of television.

The show quickly became a cultural phenomenon as millions tuned in each week to watch as

620-somethings living in New York navigated that unique time in your life

when friends are family. In 2019, we marked the 25th anniversary of Friends with an episode of

history of the 90s that dove deep into the making of the iconic sitcom and tried to answer the

question why it endures despite having obvious flaws. Since recording that

episode, sadly, we lost Matthew Perry in 23 from an accidental overdose following a lifelong

battle with substance abuse. Before Perry died, the entire cast of friends filmed a reunion show,

which aired in May 2021 on Max.

It was also around that time that reruns of Friends moved to Max from Netflix.

But one thing that hasn't changed is the lasting obsession for a show that is tied to the 90s

like almost nothing else. I'll be back in two weeks with a brand new episode.
