Wednesday night, we're going to continue through the Bible, and we're going through the Gospel of Luke.

And as soon as we're done with Luke, we go to the Gospel of John. And after John, you know, we just kind of keep going right through the Bible.

So that's how we roll here at Athe.

So I want you turn with me to Luke chapter 21 for this morning's text?

Normally I take a small text from our upcoming chapter on Wednesday or two or three chapters,

depending on where we are in the Bible.

But today I want to cover Luke 21 as a whole chapter, and there's a method to my madness.

We have covered, this is, someone would call this chapter, Luke 21, the Olivet discourse.

And if you recall, we have covered the Olivet discourse, both in Matthew and Mark, two different

versions of it. Matthew gives us an extremely complete and thorough and huge. If you remember,

the Olivet discourse in Matthew was Matthew 24 and 25,

two full chapters of red letters. Luke gives us this really paired down version, very, very brief.

And I would suggest, just for those of you that are students of scripture, maybe this may not be

the same dissertation that Jesus gave on the Mount of Olives. This might have been a shorter one

given to specific Jews on the Temple Mount. And I'll show you that as we get into this.

So, but I wanted to kind of take a high level view of Luke 21, this kind of version of the Olivet discourse,

which is about the end of the world,

and the end of time, and stuff like that.

Also about AD 70 when the Romans crushed Jerusalem.

And there's some confusion about that.

We'll talk about that as well.
