Summary
The old farmhouse had a reputation, though as a kid he didn't know most of the stories.
His parents rarely talked about the strange things that happened there. The shadow figures. The appliances that seemed to turn on by themselves. The unsettling feeling that certain parts of the house weren't quite empty.
Then one afternoon after school, he found himself home alone when he heard water running in the kitchen. At first, he assumed someone else must be in the house.
What he discovered a few moments later left him terrified—and years later, after finally hearing the experiences his parents had kept to themselves, he began to wonder if whatever was in that house had been trying to get his attention all along.
