Religion reporter Lauren Green. Green studied journalism at Northwestern University's acclaimed Madill School of Journalism. She also

wrote a 2017 book titled Lighthouse Faith. You'll hear her discuss that in her conversation with

Marvin today. And here now to preview that discussion is World Editor-in-Chief Marvin Olasky.

Hello, Marvin. Hey, Jill. Well, this isn't the first time you

interviewed Green, is it? No. When else have you spoken with her, and what was that like?

Well, I had the privilege and pleasure of living in New York City for three and a half years or so,

and that's when occasionally we talked about stuff because she's the Fox religion reporter and very knowledgeable and so was a natural thing that occasionally I'd ask her questions.

She'd ask me questions.

Well, that's an interesting beat to have.

Did she talk a lot about the challenges that that presented for her?

Oh, big time. I mean, number one, do people who are secular think this is important at all?

Why should they care? And then number two, the tendency in journalism is to emphasize anger and controversy,

and she really wanted to explain things and teach

and let people understand where other folks are coming from.

So I think there was always the pressure to juice it up a little bit

in terms of controversy.

So she's really more of a teacher

than someone who is just out for clicks or

excitement in television.

I assume these interviews indicate your respect for Green's work as a journalist. What does she do
