Hello, hello, welcome to high brow. I'm your host, Mita Lay, and happy, happy holidays. It's December. It's early

December. So we are in the holiday season. We are deep in the holiday season, what may even say,

if you count the day after Thanksgiving as the time when holidays start. But I actually know

a lot of people who now count like the day after Halloween as the time when holidays start. So depending on your definition, we are deep in the

holiday season. And look, I love the holidays. I feel like, especially in New York City,

it's just very beautiful and festive and the streets are decorated with like lights and trees and bows and okay honestly i do not

love bows i feel like with all the fashion industry clamoring over bows in the last several

months i've grown really really tired of them Like I cannot look at them any longer.

I don't want bows on anything anymore. And I'm really glad that I didn't end up falling for any

trend of buying clothes with bows on them because, yeah, I just don't have anything with bows

on it. But bows have just gone too far and I apologize if you're someone who is very into Bose, like, it's not you.

It's just I feel like there's an oversaturation, and I need some, like, other type of stimulation visually.

But I really lost it the other day because I saw these candles on sale and the way that the candles

were decorated. They're like these long tapered candles, like super elegant, the ones that you put on

a candelabriol that are really popular. And they were tied with a bow. And it was like part of the style of the candles they were selling, like they were selling them with bows on them.

The literal product description is taper candle with lace bow. And the bow is a satin and lace bow. And I'm like, this this is ridiculous it's also $42 for this singular candle

that's an extreme fire hazard I'm like okay the candle's like melting and it drops on the bow

and the bow just goes up and burst into flames no thank you I do not want my dinner table to

catch fire this holiday season so yeah I, I think the bows, they've

gone too far. We need to know there's a time and place for bows. And there's lots of times and

lots of places for them in the holiday season. They've been a Christmas-favored decor for a while

now. But again, there's a line. No fire hazards, please.
