I'm Julia Cowley, retired FBI agent and profiler, and I'm joined by Angela Curser, Susan Costler Drew, and Bob Drew.

This is part two of our analysis of the murder of 19-year-old Shirley Elizabeth Witten and 26-year-old Roger Dale Higgins.

They were found on the morning of February 22nd, 1972, in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Wildwood, Florida.

Both Shirley and Roger were stabbed multiple times, and Roger had suffered a significant blow to his head.

As we discussed in part one, Shirley had just begun working at the Union 76 truck stop.

She'd been there just over two weeks, and this was only the second time she had worked the overnight shift.

Roger worked for a moving company and had stopped to stay overnight at the truck stop with

his employer on their way to Atlanta. There was no evidence that Shirley and Roger had known each other

prior to this date, but they were observed talking while Shirley was working. Shirley had a break from

3 a.m. to 4 a.m. and witnesses observed her leaving with Roger. Shirley was known to be very

responsible, so when she didn't return to work on time, her supervisor called Shirley's home

where she lived with her family. The supervisor then officially reported Shirley missing

at approximately 6 a.m. At approximately 8 a.m., Shirley and Rogers' bodies were found by a visitor to the cemetery,

and the Sumter County Sheriff's Office was notified at around 8.15 a.m.

As I mentioned in part one, this case was brought to our attention by Jenny Decker,

And she had covered this case in season 21 of her show.

And while doing her research, she came across the original FBI profile that was done.

She then contacted me to ask if we'd take a look at the case because it didn't seem quite right to her.
