Hey everybody, this is Rob Leifeld.

You are listening to another outstanding episode of Rob observations because I said so.

I said it's outstanding because I said so, but I really believe today you will think this is outstanding.

This is great.

When someone brings up a treasure chest from the bottom of the ocean or or in this case

the oceans of time as i have imagined uh not imagined i have achieved this i have i have been

able to bring up this treasure trove of data and info and i love data and I love info when I'm not alone because we live

in a world where all of the analytics have taken over. Analytics rule sports. It rules baseball,

football, basketball, the purr, you know, his assists, rebounds, you know his assists rebounds you know scoring ratio uh multiplied multiplied

by how much player x is on the floor in which lineups he works best in everything's become

analytics you know uh money ball was the explosion of of uh of analytics and also a just an absolutely terrific movie

terrific performance by brad pitt i mean that's that's where it kind of went mainstream and

where i remember talk radio used to start um you know drummingming it up. The most is when, in the early

2000s, when they talked about the success of Moneyball, of course, which is Billy Bean. Is there a

better name than Billy Bean? Billy Bean's method that he approached, embraced to turn around the Oakland Athletics.

Now, again, after time, the irony is, well, that'll make you competitive, but won't get you to win at all until it does, you know?

So even the analytics, even the numbers,

everybody, you know, carves them up. Uh, just this week, I read about analytics for some new

streaming shows, which ones are doing poorly, which ones are doing better than, um, than,

than they anticipated. And there was, there was one where, where is binging dead? Oh, you got me.

I'll read that.
