Welcome to this, the fourth podcast in our series of podcasts talking about the finalists for the 2019 Spectator Economic Disruptor of the Year awards sponsored by the private bank Julius Baer.

Today we're in Manchester and we're meeting the four finalists chosen out of quite a large entry this year

for the Northwest, Manchester and Wales. And we had four fantastic presentations

over lunch just now, and we've now come together with the judges for this region with me.

company is called Intellisant. Its product is called Howes, H-O-W-Z z and it is in the business of elder care dementia care it's a piece of

technology which is a sensor in the home that can sense the patterns of behavior of an elderly

person whether they change or show some unusual feature, such as

whether a person is late to get out of bed one day or several days in a row or display some

other behaviour that can be sensed by electronic sensors fed back to their family or to their carers or to their

GPs and so on. This is in a relatively early stage. It's on the brink of commercialisation.

It's being road tested with utility companies. It has applications that could combine with insurance companies

and with the NHS and so on so we're not inviting Stuart Marks to comment on this one
