Summary

"The Nine Scents of Sorrow" by Jordan Taylor, narrated by Wil This week's story features one of history's memorable, real-life villains, and while this isn't her story, directly, when she tells it, she is the hero, and so very, very justified. And as much as I hate it, I gotta tell you that she isn't wrong.  Original Publication Credit: Uncanny Magazine Issue 35, July 2020 To learn more about the author, please visit: https://jordantaylorwrites.com/  It's Storytime was produced in 2025 by Traveler Enterprises, Inc., who holds the copyright. I am mostly retired from acting, but for about the last 15 years before I sort of hung them up, I played a lot

of villains. Most of them were that guy you loved to hate, right? Because it wasn't evil. He wasn't

1:06.8

cruel. He was just overconfident and ignorant, kind of annoying, got in the way of the

heroes. Characters like Fox in the Guild, chaos, in leverage, Dr. Parrish and Eureka, they also

carried the faint promise of redemption. So maybe some people in the audience passively cheered for them.

And a lot of the fun I had bringing those characters to life was found by exploring the reasons I needed to justify all of

the villainous things I did.
