And on this week's episode, we're going to be talking about the 2020 horror film, Nighthouse, directed by David Bruckner, written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, and starring Rebecca Hall, Sarah Goldberg, and Evan

Janakit. In this film, a woman begins to notice mysterious things around her house after the

sudden death of her husband. If you're new to our show, Brian are going to have a brief spoiler-free discussion up front.

We'll just talk about the background of the film, and then we'll dive into the plot, the

spoilers, and our review.

Brian, looking at releases for this year, I feel like this was one of the ones that has been

more hyped up than others.

Would you agree?

I agree. When I saw this trailer, this is one of the rare trailers I feel like I actually saw

because I was like, this looks more thriller than horror. I'll watch it. And I wasn't excited

about it. I didn't think this was going to be a big deal. And then quite a bit of buzz started

to build around it after the release. It was talked

about a lot on our Discord server and I'm glad we're finally getting around to it.

Yeah, and I've seen it pop up in like some of these year-end review lists as well. So it did

kind of have like a brief theatrical run, right? It did, yeah. I think it had the normal length theatrical run. It was released in

theaters August, 2021, and then to digital October 2021. Okay, got it. So it's a 2020 movie because

it was screened at a film festival in 2020, and that's Sundanceance sundance in 2020 but yeah the release was
