What is Boris Johnson up to in number 10?

A former senior conservative asked me the other day, he's not done any of the things that

you would expect in the immediate aftermath of a general election triumph.

No big speeches, outlining his plans, no list of policies handed to the papers, as yet

no reshuffle. Indeed, not much of anything at all.

Some think that that is because he may turn out to be like Gordon Brown, a man who put all his

energies in getting into Downing Street and didn't really have a plan for what he do when he got

there, others, including me, think he's thinking and planning. And we will see soon after Brexit,

a big Johnson speech, a big Johnson reshuffle, and then we'll begin to get an idea of what this

government is really about. The thing that people are going to discover over the next few years is

the primalistra is an intensely pragmatic politician. Actually, what he wants to do is affect,

you know, change and do it in a way that actually things really happen and change for the better.

on political thinking one week and is next hailed as the coming answer to Labour's problems

and potential future Labour leader. I'll forgive her everything, even calling me daft when I

asked her a question she didn't much like on the today programme because, a poll this week of Labour
