Good morning. It is Sunday, March 22nd. I'm Ali Valshi. At least two Iranian ballistic missiles made it through Israel's sophisticated, multi-layered air defense systems overnight, and at least six people are dead after a Quddery helicopter crash over the Persian Gulf early this morning.

This comes as President Trump is threatening to target Iranian power plants if Iran does not

end the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz by Monday evening. We'll go live to the region in a few

minutes for the very latest. But we begin this hour with important work this week.

Next Saturday, March 28th, will be the No King's protest, and it will be historic.

It will be the third time that the No King's coalition has organized a nationwide day of action,

largely inspired by the federal government's violent and deadly immigration crackdown

that we've been witnessing

for the last year, which is why organizers chose nearby St. Paul, the capital of Minnesota,

as the site of its national flagship event this time around. The outcry that erupted against

the immigration operations in the state of Minnesota ultimately led to the firing of Homeland Security

Secretary Christy Noem at the height of the

operation in Minnesota, more than 3,000 federal agents had been sent to the state. Today, fewer than

a thousand remain. It's probably a thousand too many, but the fact that it's a thousand is a testament

to the power of your voice, your bearing witness to the government's actions. Americans, including

you watching at home, have done a lot to provide a backstop to many of Trump's abuses of power.

So let's back up for a second and remember what has been achieved. At this point last year,

just two months into the second Trump administration, no large-scale effort had been materialized yet to counter Donald Trump, but the seeds of a movement were already beginning to sprout.

Small clusters of people around the country were getting together to protest the anti-democratic actions that Trump had promised to take and had started to take upon his return to power.

Others gathered at Tesla dealerships and elsewhere

to demonstrate against Elon Musk and Doge, who were empowered by Trump to fire government workers

...
