John, I want to get right into it because I've had a lot of energy about this this week, to put it lightly.

And I know you have too.

We want to start the show by talking about this story in the New York Times this week. The headline is,

as kids they thought they were trans they no longer do. Before I turn it over to you on this,

a couple things I think stood out to me. The first is that this was published as an opinion piece, but it is written as straightforwardly reporting as the could possibly be. I mean I don't even know anything about the person who wrote this

afterwards. She didn't inject any of her own opinions. I don't believe she ever

used first person other than saying a source told me. But I mean, I'm glad that the Times ran this

at the same time, it reads like every other story

that we've read and everywhere except the Times

over the last year. I mean I almost skimmed it because it was a lot of the stuff

we've been hearing for over a year now. You know like my kids or I myself was rushed into you you know, so-called gender affirming care or hormone treatment.

Nobody at these clinics is talking about other mental health care comorbidities
