The politics of the Israel-Hamais war have become one of the most divisive issues in the Democratic Party.

The presidential primaries, which were supposed to be a coronation for

Joe Biden, have been marked by organized protests against the president's pro-Israel policies.

Chuck Schumer's recent speech condemning BB Netanyahu, thrilled progressives, but angered some pro-Israel

Democrats.

Elsewhere in Congress, placing restrictions on aid to Israel, has a growing constituency in the party.

Democrats are also bracing for large protests outside their convention in Chicago this summer,

and perhaps inside as well if a big platform fight over Israel

breaks out. And then there are the primary battles where the two sides of this

debate are facing off. One increasingly prominent group to watch is the Democratic

majority for Israel, which has a list of House Democrats who the group sees as

hostile to Israel and is targeting for defeat. President of the Democratic majority for Israel is Mark Melman, a long-time Democratic pollster,

and he's our guest this week.
