faded into the obscurity of the past, which is unfair and unwarranted.

America's Forgotten Heroes is a trip that takes you back in history to a time where language

wasn't literally violence, where brave men paid in blood for the freedom that many used

to complain about microaggressions and pronouns and things today.

One such man was Ernest E. Evans, a World War II naval officer who fought in the Battle

of Sumar.

In the Battle, a small U.S. naval task unit was ambushed by a large Japanese fleet of 23

ships, hell-bent on destroying the American Navy, though almost completely unprepared.

E. Evans and his men managed to attack the Japanese forces in one of the greatest last stands

in naval history and just a dramatic and incredible story and a real life story.

Or take Frank Luke, a 21-year-old fighter pilot in World War I young, talented, arrogant,

Luke sometimes butted heads with his peers and commanding officers, especially when he

disregarded direct orders and occasionally tended to fly solo.

But he secured a spot in history after shooting down 18 German aircrafts in 18 days.

That is what we call efficiency.

Now two Air Force bases boast his name.
