Did you know that there are roughly 1.25 million frozen embryos, just waiting for a chance at life? On today’s edition of Family Talk, co-host Gary Bauer talks with John and Marlene Strege (pronounced stre-gee), about their story of being the first couple to “adopt” a frozen, fertilized egg and carry it through a successful pregnancy. The result of that endeavor was the birth of their daughter, Hannah, who is now a young adult with dreams of opening her own adoption counseling practice.

0:40.3	They're filled with hope and love to share with their own son or daughter, making memories as a family.
0:46.0	It's a beautiful thought, but the reality is the beautiful experience of having a family does not come easy for all. And that is the issue that we're
0:55.6	going to hear more about on today's edition of Family Talk. Couples that
0:59.7	perhaps have to think outside the box a bit and consider going to great lengths to become
1:04.9	parents like adopting a frozen embryo. Now this version of accepting a child
1:10.6	into a new family allows a mom to bond with her new baby as that
1:14.4	child develops in the womb as nature intended. But these frozen embryos are
1:18.8	extra fertilized eggs that were not needed when a couple chose in vitro fertilization or IVF to conceive a child.
1:27.3	At present, millions of these frozen embryos are waiting to be given a chance at life. It is truly the new orphan crisis indeed.
